Meet Travis Henriques, a dynamic running back and versatile playmaker from Bishop Stang High School in Massachusetts, born on August 13, 2008. As a young junior in the Class of 2026, Travis is already turning heads with a skill set that screams college potential. At 5'10" and 195 lbs, he blends power (240-lb bench, 405-lb squat) and speed (4.71-second 40-yard dash), matching the profiles of starting RBs at FCS and D2 programs like Sacred Heart or Saint Anselm, while dominating D3 competition.
In 2024, Travis transitioned from linebacker to starting varsity running back for the Bishop Stang Spartans, earning the role after sharpening his craft behind three talented seniors. In just five starts, he exploded for 752 yards on 112 carries (6.7 yards per carry) and 8 touchdowns, showcasing elite vision and decisiveness. His patient, downhill style—praised as 'veteran-like'—dominates inside runs, where he stays square, powers through gaps, and thrives in veer schemes, perfect for teams like Norwich or Marist. Travis also flashes good speed on outside pitches, with an improving burst that stretches defenses, fitting spread offenses at LIU or Colby. His power and balance—labeled a 'YAC monster'—keep his legs churning through contact, making him a go-to for short-yardage situations at schools like Bentley or Middlebury.
His Breakout 2024 season earned him South Coast Player of the Week honors for Weeks 7, 8, 10, and 11 and a 2024 South Coast All-Star selection. Beyond high school, Travis showcased his versatility with the Rhody Elite Mafia Travel Team, playing slot receiver and helping secure a National Championship. In the 2024 National Playoff Game, he erupted for four receiving touchdowns, proving he’s a dual-threat weapon who can burn defenses through the air as well as on the ground. This big-game performance, paired with his 150.4 yards per game as an RB, marks him as a clutch performer for college coaches.
Even as a sophomore in 2023, Travis showed his grit and versatility. Stepping in for the injured starting varsity quarterback during the first half of the Thanksgiving game, he took charge and scored the Spartans’ only touchdown, earning the South Coast Player of the Game award—a testament to his ability to shine under pressure at just 15 years old.
Off the field, Travis maintains a 3.8 GPA and has earned induction into the National Honor Society in 2025, reflecting the discipline and leadership valued by programs like Salve Regina or UMass Dartmouth. His hobbies—fishing, video games, and baseball—have honed patience, teamwork, and resilience, traits that shine on the gridiron.
For coaches: Travis’s vision, power, and multi-dimensional play—running inside, bouncing outside, catching passes out of the slot, and even stepping up at QB—make him a fit for inside zone, power, or spread systems. As a young junior outperforming older peers, his 4.71 40 and 195-lb frame are already competitive, with another offseason to chase a 4.65 and add 5-10 lbs positioning him for FCS scholarship conversations. A high-upside prospect with a workhorse mentality, Travis is ready to make an immediate impact at the next level.
